Dawn

Dawn broke over
bodies, slumbering;

casting its sharp eye in relief over

backs, breasts, knees;
mountains, hills, rolling greens…

English countrysides, where honeysuckles

were left bereft
from wintry clutches.

But deep below the crevasses,

hearts rumbled,
ready to awaken
