Temples

Each toll
that splits off as
the bell
rings,
sending

echoes in the air;

perfect, vibrating copies
of the original ripple –

purity encased
within sonic amulets,
that bathe Silence with the bliss
of enraptured devouts nearby

while enhancing
the sacred atmosphere
amongst lazy smoke wisps
coiling around figures,

pristine decades of practiced languor.
